June 05 Good Shepherd’s CasseroleOne of our parishes, St. Jerome’s, participates in the Good Shepherd casserole. Our pastor, Fr. Jan, always encourages us to participate. Also Fr. Ed who is from Good Shepherd is one of our most frequent visiting pastors who do homilies. We thought it would be a great idea to help out. We called a few select squires who live in the neighbourhood and who has passion for cooking. Our chief counsellor bought the ingredients. The service committee chair asked permission from his parents to host the cooking in their house. Squires did all the cutting of vegetables (green peppers and the tearful onions), opening the cans of soups, browning the ground beef, cooking the pasta and putting it all together. We got the aluminium foil containers to place the cooked food. We made 4 casseroles in total. We delivered them the following day. Highlights of the activity. All the hard work deserved a good party afterwards P.S. Mrs. Kaszkur tasted our casserole and she gave it the THUMBS UP. TrackbacksWeblogs that reference this entry
